Simple Dark Chocolate Truffles

In this article I will show you how to prepare simple Dark Chocolate Truffles. These chocolate bites are luxuriously rich and delicious. Because truffles are prone to melting, keep these little gems cool. Recipe makes 18 servings. Here are ingredients and directions:

SIMPLE DARK CHOCOLATE TRUFFLES

INGREDIENTS :

4 ounces gluten-free semisweet chocolate
3 ounces gluten-free bittersweet chocolate
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1/3 cup heavy cream or soy or almond milk
1 tablespoon almond liqueur
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

DIRECTIONS :

Line a 13 × 9-inch baking sheet with wax paper and set aside.
In a food processor, combine chocolates and powdered sugar and process until chocolate is finely chopped.
In a medium saucepan, heat the cream over medium heat just until it starts to simmer. With the food processor on, pour the hot cream mixture through lid and process until the mixture is smooth. Add liqueur (if using). Scrape mixture onto pan and press down with spatula to an equal thickness. Chill 2 hours.
Working quickly, cut the chocolate into 18 equal-sized pieces. With your hands, quickly roll each piece into a ball and put it on a plate. Chill 15 minutes.
Remove the truffles from the refrigerator and quickly dredge 3 balls at a time in the cocoa powder. Place each ball in a mini-foil or paper candy liner and refrigerate in an airtight container. Bring to room temperature just before serving.

 Variations:

DARK MOCHA TRUFFLES RECIPE

Keep these on hand in your freezer during the holidays and you’ll always have a quick dessert for unexpected guests. They’re especially cute when served in foil or paper candy liners. If you prefer a nonalcoholic version you may use cold brewed coffee instead of the liqueur. Makes 16 servings. Follow this simple directions:

INGREDIENTS :

1 package Dark Chocolate, Chocolate Chunk Cookies
1 teaspoon instant espresso powder
1 tablespoon coffee flavored liqueur
¼ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter or buttery spread at room temperature
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

DIRECTIONS :

In a food processor, process the cookies and espresso powder until the cookies are very finely ground. You will have almost 2 cups of cookie crumbs. Add the liqueur and butter and process until the mixture forms a ball or clumps. Shape the mixture into a flat disk, wrap tightly, and chill 2 hours.
Compress a tablespoon of dough into a ball, roll in the cocoa, and place on a foil-lined baking sheet. Chill 1 hour. Serve in foil or paper candy liners. Store, tightly covered, for up to 2 days or in the freezer for up to 1 month.

Chocolate With Cabernet Sauvignon Cupcakes

This is the most amazing “adult” cupcakes recipe ever. It combines the two of the greatest ingredients ever, chocolate and wine! It does contain alcohol, but it cooks out completely and is kid friendly. This is the perfect cupcake to serve at a wine tasting party, cocktail party or any party at all.

These cupcakes are made with cinnamon, cocoa powder, dried cherries and of course Cabernet Sauvignon. When making these delicious little creations; make sure that you use a good quality Cabernet Sauvignon. It makes all the difference in the world. You can also serve the same wine with the cupcakes and it makes a beautiful pair. When the cupcakes are done baking you top them with sweet whipped cream, a few more dried cherries and a dusting of either cinnamon or cocoa powder.

Cupcake pans come in 3 sizes, small, medium and large. The cooking time varies between the sizes. Small cupcakes take approximately 6 minutes less than medium and large cupcakes take about 8 minutes longer than medium. It doesn’t matter what type of mixer you use whether is a Kitchen Aide mixer, a hand mixer or just a wooden spoon. Just make sure you mix it as the directions say.

Chocolate with Cabernet Sauvignon Cupcakes

Ingredients:

1 1/2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
1 Cup White Sugar
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 Teaspoon Baking Powder
1 Teaspoon Sea Salt
1 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
1/2 Cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
2 Large Eggs
3/4 Cup Cabernet Sauvignon
1/2 Cup Dried Cherries, chopped
2 Cups Lightly Sweetened Whipped Cream
1/4 Cup Dried Cherries, chopped
1 Tablespoon Cinnamon or Cocoa Powder, as garnish

Preparation:

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

2. Prepare the muffin pans with paper baking cups.

3. Sift together the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and cocoa powder in an electric mixer.

4. Add the oil, vanilla, eggs and Cabernet Sauvignon.

5. Beat with the electric mixer at low speed for 30 seconds. Turn the mixer speed to high and continue beating for three minutes, scraping the sides occasionally.

6. Remove the bowl from the mixer and stir in the dried cherries.

7. Pour the batter into the prepared muffin pans.

8. Bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

9. Spoon a dollop of whipped cream on the center of the completely cooled cupcakes.

10. Add five to six bits of dried cherries and a dusting of cinnamon or cocoa powder.

Chocolate recipe: Hot Chocolate

Growing up on the colder states, we were accustomed to wake up each morning served with a cup of hot chocolate. And it turned out to be a surprise when we learned that a lot of people are not used to drinking hot chocolates! So we decided to look for our favorite hot chocolate recipe online and share it to those who want to learn how to prepare it.

Chocolate recipe: Hot Chocolate

The things you need are; 8 cups of whole milk, 1 cup of sugar, 1 tea spoon of vanilla extract, and about 6 ounces of bittersweet chocolate.

Chop your chocolates into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl. Chopping the chocolates will make it easier for the pieces to melt or mix with other ingredients.

Heat the milk over medium to low heat until you see steam rising from it. Keep in mind that you don’t want to boil your milk. So, once the steam starts to rise immediately add the sugar and the vanilla extract. Stir until the sugar has dissolved, and turn off your stove.

Get a cup of the milk and pour it on your chopped chocolate. Let the chocolate melt, and whisk it if needed. Make sure that all of the small pieces melt. Continue adding the rest of the milk until all of it has mixed with the chocolate. Serve it in cups and it with the ingredients you should get about 10 servings of good old hot chocolate drink.

Together with this recipe, which I found on the internet, came a few tips and tricks that you are also helpful if it’s your first time making chocolate drink.

It’s not necessary to use a whole cup of sugar for it. Sweetness varies according to our preference. So, you might want to adjust the sugar to match the sweetness that you like.

If you prefer, you can substitute 2 percent milk. The main purpose of using whole milk is to give your drink the best texture.

Use the best chocolates available. Lindt, Tobler, and Valhrona are good choices. We’ve even tried making with Godiva and it tastes great.
