History of Ghirardelli chocolate

Ghirardelli Chocolate Company is one of the oldest chocolate companies in the world and the second oldest chocolate company in the United States of America. It has been started by an Italian man called Domingo Ghirardelli who has settled in California after working in South America for several years. The company has been incorporated in the year 1852. Since then Ghirardelli has become a leading brand in the United States of America.

Ghirardelli was born in Italy. His father was an importer of foods and he learned his first lessons in chocolate making in Italy when he worked as a helper in a local candy shop. Later he moved to Uruguay to work with a chocolate company and later he came to Peru and started his own confectionary shop there. He started manufacturing Ghirardelli chocolate there. It was in 1947. Two years later in 1949 he moved to California to make luck in gold mines. After a short period of working in Gold mines he started a shop supplying general items to the fellow miners. Thus he started his business in the soil of United States of America. Later he started a coffee shop and in the year 1852 he started manufacturing guittard chocolate . after importing good quality cocoa. The new taste and the flavors he offered had a different touch and thus it has become a hit with the public. Shortly the Ghirardelli chocolate become a popular name in the market and people started asking only Ghirardelli. With the success of single chocolates, Ghirardelli started manufacturing chocolate bars too. Ghirardelli bars also became a hit with the public and that was the beginning of the growth of a giant in the chocolate industry.

But the life was not a smooth affair for Ghirardelli.

Before starting the Ghirardelli Chocolate Company, he had started shop selling general items. Though, he improved his business and started one more shop, it got gutted in fire and lost almost all things. Still he managed to start a new shop with the left out materials and furniture. It was the determination and the will power of a single person behind the success of Ghirardelli Chocolate Company. Thanks to this strong mind now we are enjoying the delicious Ghirardelli hot chocolate and Ghirardelli bars.

The days have gone for Ghirardelli Chocolate Company to fight for its existence. Now it is one of the known brands in the United States of America and in many other countries. With its unique taste Ghirardelli hot chocolate and Ghirardelli bars are still watering the mouth of millions all over the world. Thus Ghirardelli has proved that the success will come in your way if you keep on trying without quitting.
